Gewählt wird sie durch eine öffentliche Abstimmung, die mittlerweile online stattfindet. Bis Mitte Dezember 2022 konnte zwischen Klatschmohn, Tulpe, Essigbaum, Petersilie und Oleander entschieden werden. Das Rennen machte schließlich die Petersilie mit 29,5 % der Stimmen, auf dem zweiten Platz landete der Oleander, vor dem Klatschmohn (3. Platz) sowie der Tulpe und dem Essigbaum (beide 4. Platz).
