Der Griff zu rezeptfreien Analgetika wie ASS, Ibuprofen oder Paracetamol ist dann verlockend. Doch für eine sichere Selbstmedikation müsse der Patient über ein erhebliches Maß an Erfahrung verfügen, gibt die Apothekerkammer Niedersachsen zu bedenken. Doch genau diese haben Jugendliche noch nicht. Rezeptfreie Schmerzmittel sollten erst nach fachlicher Beratung und nur mit Bedacht eingesetzt werden. Sie eignen sich keineswegs zur unkritischen Einnahme. Als Faustformel für die selbstbestimmte Einnahme gilt grundsätzlich: nicht länger als drei bis vier Tage und nicht häufiger als zehn Tage im Monat.
