Hintergrund der Risikobewertung war, dass vermehrt schwerwiegende unerwünschte Wirkungen bei Kleinkindern unter Behandlung mit Dimenhydrinat beziehungsweise Diphenhydramin (z. B. Krampfanfälle) gemeldet wurden, zum Teil mit tödlichem Ausgang. </p> <p> Es besteht der begründete Verdacht, dass die Anwendung von Dimenhydrinat beziehungsweise Diphenhydramin bei Kindern bis drei Jahre insbesondere bei der Behandlung einer banalen Gastroenteritis oder eines fieberhaften Infektes sowie bei Überdosierung zu schweren Nebenwirkungen (z. B. Dadurch kann Johanniskraut zum einen die Elimination anderer Arzneistoffe beschleunigen und die Wirksamkeit der anderen Stoffe vermindern. Dadurch kann Johanniskraut zum einen die Elimination anderer Arzneistoffe beschleunigen und die Wirksamkeit der anderen Stoffe vermindern.
