Bei etwa jedem achten AML-Patienten lässt sich der Krebs weder mit Chemo­therapie noch mit einer Stamm­zell­trans­plantation lang­fristig zurückdrängen. Die Freiburger Forscher zeigten nun, dass diese Patienten von einer kombinierten Behandlung profitieren: Sie übertrugen T-Immun­zellen gesunder Spender und gaben gleichzeitig das Medikament Sorafenib. Ein Teil der Patienten konnte geheilt werden, bei vielen wurde der Krebs stark zurückgedrängt. In ausführlichen Labor­studien entschlüsselten die Forscher die Wirkungs­weise der Therapie: Sorafenib macht die Tumorzellen für die Immun­zellen sichtbar, woraufhin diese den Krebs zerstören. Die Labor­ergebnisse wurden durch Daten von über 400 Patienten aus weltweit 39 Studien­zentren bestätigt. Die Studie erschien am <b>12. Die Freiburger Forscher zeigten nun, dass diese Patienten von einer kombinierten Behandlung profitieren: Sie übertrugen T-Immun­zellen gesunder Spender und gaben gleichzeitig das Medikament Sorafenib. Ein Teil der Patienten konnte geheilt werden, bei vielen wurde der Krebs stark zurückgedrängt. In ausführlichen Labor­studien entschlüsselten die Forscher die Wirkungs­weise der Therapie: Sorafenib macht die Tumorzellen für die Immun­zellen sichtbar, woraufhin diese den Krebs zerstören. Die Labor­ergebnisse wurden durch Daten von über 400 Patienten aus weltweit 39 Studien­zentren bestätigt. Die Studie erschien am <b>12.
