In der symptomfreien Zeit ist es zur Prophylaxe weiterer Gichtanfälle wichtig, den Harnsäurespiegel niedrig zu halten. Bei leicht bis mäßig erhöhten Harnsäurewerten reicht hierzu oft schon eine purinarme Diät aus.
