Seitdem ist die Impfung für GKV-Versicherte erstattungsfähig und soll im Alter von 2, 4 und 12 Monaten verabreicht werden. Die Grundimmunisierung kann bis zum Alter von 4 Jahren nachgeholt werden. Da die Kassenärztlichen Vereinigungen und die Krankenkassen bis jetzt noch keine Vereinbarung zur Vergütung getroffen haben, wird der Impfstoff zurzeit weiterhin auf Privatrezept verordnet.
