Ein aktuelles In-vitro-Infektionsmodell mit Rhinoviren und den Halspastillen isla® med hat gezeigt, dass die polymeren Bestandteile der Pastillen gemeinsam mit Normspeichel eine physikalische Barriere bilden, die zweifach schützen kann: Eine Infektion mit Rhinoviren wird erschwert und eine Ausbreitung potentiell eingedämmt.1
